Question 1

What size aquarium is best for a beginner?

Accepted Answer

A 60–100 litre tank is the sweet spot — large enough to stay chemically stable, small enough to fit and maintain easily. Tiny tanks under 30 L are surprisingly hard for beginners because conditions swing fast.

Question 2

How long does cycling a tank take?

Accepted Answer

Fishless cycling typically takes 4–6 weeks. You're building the beneficial bacteria colony that converts toxic ammonia into nitrate. Skipping this step is the most common cause of new fish loss.

Question 3

Do I need a heater for tropical fish?

Accepted Answer

Yes — most tropical species need stable temperatures around 24–26°C. Match heater wattage to tank volume (roughly 1 watt per litre) and always use a guard if you have fish that might burn.

Question 4

Do prices include GST?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every price shown on Koala Coast includes 10% GST — what you see is what you pay.

Question 5

How fast is delivery?

Accepted Answer

Most orders dispatch within 1–2 business days. Standard delivery is generally estimated at 5–8 business days. Delivery times may vary by product and fulfilment location.

Question 6

Is delivery free?

Accepted Answer

Delivery is free Australia-wide to every postcode we service. Enter your postcode on any product or cart page to confirm we deliver to you.

Question 7

Can I return an item if I change my mind?

Accepted Answer

Yes — we offer a 14-day change-of-mind return policy for eligible unused products in their original condition and packaging. Return shipping is at the customer's cost and a 10% restocking fee applies. This voluntary policy is separate from your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. See our Returns & Refunds Policy for full details.
